WEEK STARTING MONDAY THE 13TH OF MAY

MONDAY THE 13TH OF MAY

The good weather is gone and we had a wet day the first job of today was to collect meat and the rain stopped all the outside work. We have another brood bitch in season so we took her to king Elvis so I went to Richard Cuddy with her on the way back I posted all the paperwork off and I also called at the hardware and the co op for bits and pieces. On this weeks greyhound star British performance of the week we have one hound on this weeks list Swift Maria at Monmore who came from a8 grader to a open race winner doing 28.04 +10 on Saturday night. Newcastle united need a point on Wednesday against Man united to be guaranteed 7th spot in the premiership which is European football next season for us if we get beat and beat Brentford in the last game of the season we still qualify for 7th spot regardless of result of Man united and Chelsea.

TUESDAY THE 14TH OF MAY

A mix day of weather all before 8 o’clock this morning we had 4 delivery’s of supplies. I was off early again today to collect meat ,at the kennels we galloped and changed beds we also had to meat Michael Flynn who took the hounds that are sold going to the UK to their new owners.

WEDNESDAY THE 15TH OF MAY

A mix day of weather, I been to the vets for our weekly trip. We need all our waste away we have done a tidy up and the main job today is galloping and preparing hounds for schooling. Newcastle united have a massive game tonight against Man united if we get a point we are in Europe next season

THURSDAY THE 16TH OF MAY

I day tripped England and everything went well. At the kennels we prepared hounds for schooling plus we hunted and galloped. All results including Newcastle united went against us I thought we played well but didn’t take our chances. It was another nice day so we cut the grass in the rearing paddocks.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD 3 RUNNERS AT SWINDON SWIFT ZELOUS AND MOHICAN CLIVE , AT HOVE CLONA URIEL.

FRIDAY THE 17TH OF MAY

We started early on Friday morning as we thought we we’re trailing at Shelbourne park but just as we left  we got a call saying the trails we’re cancelled as the hare rail cable snapped. We did a load of tiding up and grass cutting and the day went well.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD 3 RUNNERS AT ROMFORD SWIFT INDIGO, CHARLIE KNOWS AND FAB ROY

SATURDAY THE 18TH OF MAY

The first job of today was to collect meat, we have tided the website up and the next job is to collect food for pups and the rest of the day will be took up by hunting and galloping hounds.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE 3 RUNNERS AT PERRY BARR SWIFT PRANK, AT DONCASTER SWIFT OFFICE, AT MONMORE SWIFT MARIA.

SUNDAY THE 19TH OF MAY

Its another lovely day and a typical Sunday where we tidy the website, do the paperwork, make all the lists for the coming week. Newcastle have a massive game at 4pm against Brentford in the last game of the season

The Magpies begin in seventh, needing to equal or better Manchester United’s result at Brighton to stay ahead of the Red Devils and qualify for a two-legged Europa Conference playoff on August 22nd/29th.

However that would depend on Erik ten Hag’s side
losing to Manchester City in the FA Cup Final next Saturday. Were they to win, they would earn a Europa League spot, pushing the sixth place finisher into the Europa Conference and depriving the team finishing in seventh of European football.

Were Chelsea to lose at home to Bournemouth and Newcastle win at Brentford, that would be enough to bridge the current three point gap and see Eddie Howe’s side take sixth place on goal difference.

Sixth ensures either a Europa League or a Europa Conference berth, depending on the FA Cup results

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE 10 RUNNERS AT CRAYFORD SWIFT AIM, SWIFT ACCOLADE, SWIFT ALIEN, SWIFT DELTA AND SWIFT QUINCEY, AT TOWCESTER SWIFT PANYA, SWIFT MAXWELL, SWIFT ELDER, YOU TWO AND SWIFT DEPOT.
