WEEK STARTING MONDAY 30TH DECEMBER:

Monday 30th December:

Were doing Mondays journal on Tuesday morning. It was a busy day collecting supplies, preparing the gallop, doing a massive tidy and getting organised for New Years Day. Some of the lads have the flu. Thankfully I got the flu injection and havent had it so far.

Tuesday 31st December:

The weather the last few days has been unbelievably mild. Today its no different. The sales department has been very busy and a big thanks to everybody who bought a hound. The plans for today are to take the photos and weights of the dogs we have added to the dogs for sale page. Were going to tidy the paperwork up with it being the last day of the year. As normal there are supplies to collect to keep us fully stocked. On a personal note I haven’t had a drink for nearly nine weeks. It will be a quiet evening for me. The last place I want to be heading is the pub. Newcastle United play Leicester City tomorrow. I would be delighted with a point. The game’s on the TV so I will be watching. I’m having massive problems with Annie From Cork who is retired in my house. If she isn’t howling in the middle of the night, she’s at the door trying to get out. Last night I put her in the canteen so I could get a full nights sleep. All part of the fun of having retired greyhounds. We will do New Years journal later on today.

Wednesday 1st January NEW YEARS DAY:

WE WISH ALL CUSTOMERS NEW AND OLD, FRIENDS AND FAMILY A VERY HAPPY, HEALTHY, LUCKY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.

New years day will be like Christmas day where we feed, clean, cook and let dogs out of kennels. We will start at 6am as normal. Were well planned for it. The only other thing is I have a dog to deliver to Mullinavat. Hope everybody has a great night and a super day.

Thursday 2nd January:

Everything back to normal the Holidays went well except for Newcastle United, the plan is today schooling at Newbridge going to the dump with a full van loaded of rubbish. We need food for pups and straw and all going well we will level some sand runs.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS TONIGHT AT HOVE ARTHUR BISCUIT AND WOKEEN.

Friday 3rd January:

Its a lovely January morning. I’ve been working at the paperwork since 6am. I’ve updated the dogs for sale page. My next job is to collect supplies. I arrainged an appointment with the accountant to do the VAT. I also need an appointment with the doctor for my repeat prescription. Were going to work at home with around 30 hounds to prepare them for the traps next Thursday at Newbridge. A hectic weekend ahead.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER TONIGHT SWIFT TARQUIN AT ROMFORD.

Saturday 4th January:

Its a nice mild morning for January. The main job of the day is doing preparation work with hounds that are going in the traps at Newbridge this Thursday. We have a brood going to Michael Dunnes for testing who is going to Farloe Blitz. We finally got caught up with all the paperwork and the dogs for sale page. As normal we will need supplies collected. Its the third round of the FA cup today and Newcastle United are away to Rochdale. Its on the TV so I will be watching that from 3pm.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT SWIFT TARQUIN AT ROMFORD. TONIGHT WE HAVE ONE RUNNER AT MONMORE SWIFT FABIO.

SUNDAY 5TH JANUARY

A very mild morning, It well be a typical  Sunday  where we cook, clean kennels, feed and let dogs out that are in kennels  five times today. We have six hounds left to do preparation work with that are going in the traps at Newbridge on Thursday. Newcastle united suffered a second half collapse at spotland  as they came close to another embarrassing F A cup exit.
