WEEK STARTING MONDAY 24TH AUGUST

Monday 24th August:

We are doing Mondays journal on Wednesday morning. On Monday I collected the pasta from DSV haulage in Naas and I went to collect all the supplies we needed from vets in Cashel. At the kennels I started preparing a massive swap around of pups, saplings and kennel dogs.

Tuesday 25th August:

Padgie my head lad came back of his holidays and we started worming dogs, swapping the pups and saplings around. We got rain from 11am like we never had before the farmers around me have not cut their corn and have no hope of cutting it now with the rain. I had supplies to collect and we got the dump done we change a few beds and got the gallop ready as well.

Wednesday 26th August:

We are preparing dogs for schooling and also galloping all the August 19 hounds. We have boxes and beds to make for mothers and pups and we have mother and pups to put in to big sheds. I have been to the hardware to get everything we need and I have to take extra careful as members of staff have got corona virus their are recovering at home so we wish them well I was also told their haven’t got to bad. I have to go to Newbridge for bits and pieces for maintenance and I also have to meet dog transporter at 11am.

Thursday 27th August:

Were doing Thursdays journal on Saturday morning. We got the last of the swapping around of mothers and pups, saplings and kennel dogs. We only have about 20 dogs left to worm. We got all our waste away and we changed beds in most of the kennels. We got the last of the supplies we needed from the vets and I also got food from the supermarket for pups. The new van is due a service so I got a service kit as its 18 month old and has already done 202,000 km. To be fair everything is going well at the kennels.

Friday 28th August:

Were doing Fridays journal on Saturday morning. It rained all day. I was on my way for fish  but had to turn back as I had problems with my stomach again. Its lucky that I’m not drinking as its not as bad as it had been in the past so I recover must quicker. As we do the journal on Saturday I’m not 100% but I’m not far off it. At the kennels it was just a day to get through owing to the weather.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD TWO RUNNERS AT ROMFORD: FILMSTAR AND SWIFT TARQUIN.

Saturday 29th August:

Its a nice day and we have plenty to do. Were going to gallop all the dogs on the dogs for sale page and prepare some of them for schooling at Shelbourne on Monday. Were going to tidy the gardens up and do a tidy around the yards after the rain. We have the photographs of our August 2019 saplings to take and we will add them to greyhound data. We have supplies to collect and a trip to the supermarket for food for young pups. The new van is going for a service this afternoon. If we get all this done it will have been a good day.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT AT ROMFORD SWIFT TARQUIN. TONIGHT WE HAVE ONE RUNNER: SWIFT GUARD AT MONMORE.

Sunday 30th August:

Its a nice bright morning. We have all the usual jobs of cooking, cleaning, feeding and letting dog out that are in kennels. We will give all the dogs in the kennels a bone and clip all of the young pups nails.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER TONIGHT SHESELLSEASHELLS AT CENTRAL PARK.
