WEEK STARTING MONDAY 11TH OF MARCH

MONDAY THE 11TH OF MARCH

The weather was good today but the forecast for the week is bad. The first job of the day we had meat to collect as we had none left as normal on a Monday we had to have all hounds fed by lunchtime the traffic was good going to Dublin and coming home. On the greyhound star British performance of the week we have one hound on this weeks list Clona Uriel at hove we have the dog for sale page now updated so the next job is to watch Newcastle united in their game against Chelsea

Tuesday 12th March:

The first job on Tuesday was to collect more meat. We changed all of the beds in all the kennels and we prepared hounds for schooling which took all day. Newcastle United were very poor against Chelsea. It was a nice dry day and all went well.

Wednesday 13th March:

The day got off to a bad start as the front spring on the 2019 van broke as Padgie was coming to work. He did a proper job as the top shock bearing went as well. He would break a tank. I had to go for parts, get all the waste away. Again it was another day where we prepared more hounds for schooling.

Thursday 14th March:

The first job was a trip to the vets as I needed a vet certificate for a hound that was sold. We did a major tidy up around the yard and we did maintenance work. We also got the 2019 van repaired. The weather was good again. Spring is in the air.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER TONIGHT AT HOVE: CLONA URIEL.

Friday 15th March:

The first job of the day was to collect more meat. It was another day where we prepared hounds for schooling. I also had to go back to the vets to collect the vet certificate. We had hounds that were sold leave to go to their new owners in Ireland. It was another nice day. We wormed young pups and cut their nails.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS TONIGHT. AT ROMFORD: SWIFT WAFFLE AND SUPA NOVA.

Saturday 16th March:

Its a bank holiday weekend in Southern Ireland as its Paddy day on Sunday. Were going to do all the website work and paperwork today. We have a brood that is in season so that will have to go to a stud keeper. We will get all our waste away. We have John O’Reilly coming to check hounds. We will do a bit of maintenance work and probably level out a sand run. I’ll watch Newcastle United in the FA Cup tonight but they need a miracle against Man City.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE WE HAVE EIGHT RUNNERS TONIGHT. AT CENTRAL PARK: SWIFT YASMIN. AT OXFORD: CALICO BRIN, CALICO JESS, DUBAI KID, SWIFT ICONIC. AT DONCASTER: SWIFT REGINA AND INCA GERRY. AT MULLINGAR: GUNNER ZOMBIE.

Sunday 17th March:

Its Paddys day on Sunday. I wont be celebrating as I don’t drink. The last place in the world you would want to be is a pub in Monasterevin if you don’t drink. It will be a normal day at the kennels. We will probably hunt a few pups, wash the vans and prepare for a busy week.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT AT OXFORD SWIFT ICONIC. WE HAVE SEVEN RUNNERS TONIGHT. AT CRAYFORD: SWIFT QUINCEY. AT SHEFFIELD SWIFT GAVIN, SWIFT SILLY, SWIFT JOSH. AT TOWCESTER: SWIFT DEPOT, YOU TWO AND TWO THINGS.
