WEEK STARTING MONDAY 15TH OF AUGUST

Monday 15th August:

Not as hot and we had heavy rain over night thank goodness. It’s been a busy morning as we had to feed all the dogs before we left for Shelbourne Park, we needed all our waste away, food for pups and we also had to take a brood bitch for mating to Grangeview Ten.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE THREE RUNNERS AT NOTTINGHAM SWIFT ICONIC, SWIFT SUPER AND SWIFT MELLOW

Tuesday 16th August:

A nice morning not to hot and I don’t think we will get rain. We have hounds going to the UK that are sold with Ross Myles and Michael Flynn. We are going to take photos of our May and June 2021 saplings and add them to Greyhound Data as normal we need bits and pieces of supplies. On the racing front we had a load of winners yesterday the best of the graded winners was Ranches King at Suffolk Downs winning in 23.65 on normal going and in Ireland Swift Halo winning her heat of the unraced steak in Enniscorthy in 29.01

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT SWIFT MELLOW WINNING HIS HEAT OF THE PUPPY CLASSIC AT NOTTINGHAM AND ALSO SWIFT ICONIC QUALIFIED FOR THE NEXT ROUND TONIGHT WE HAVE THREE RUNNERS AT MONMORE SWIFT QUINCEY AND INNFIELD TROJAN AND AT SHEFFIELD SWIFT WOOF

Wednesday 17th August:

The weather is not as hot today and we had a small bit of rain. The plans today at the kennels is to hunt pups, we also need food for pups, bits and pieces from the hardware, we need a new van so I will have to start looking for it today. On the racing front Ranches King who I mention in the journal yesterday litter brother Old Fort Beetee won in Romford in 24.17 doing 3.71 split on normal going.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE THREE RUNNERS AT HARLOW SWIFT KETTLE, SWIFT ACQUIT AND SWIFT UNO

Thursday 18th August:

A overcast day and again not to hot, our order from Red Mills has arrived  and we got it all packed away. We need our waste away, we are going to do a little bit of power washing do a small swap around with the hounds and as normal we need bits and pieces from the shop and the hardware. On the racing front we had another good night at Yarmouth, we had four winners and Supa Nova did fastest time of the year 27.58 calculated.

Friday 19th August:

We are doing Fridays journal on Saturday morning as a whole day yesterday was spend preparing dogs for schooling and galloping the first of the major work on my place was done yesterday we got the front yard retarmac and next job is getting the rearing paddocks refenced.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE RUNNER SLIDER MCCOY AT ROMFORD

Saturday 20th August:

We have meat to collect, we need food for pups whole loads of bits and pieces from the hardware and the vet. At the kennels we are hedge cutting and leveling the sand runs out.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE THREE RUNNERS TONIGHT NOMANSLAND FLYER AND SWIFT QUE AT CRAYFORD AND RAIL MCCOY AT MONMORE.

Sunday 21st August:

Its a nice morning and not too hot. We have work to do on the website, all lists to make, paperwork to do. At the kennels it will be a typical Sunday where we cook, clean, feed and let hounds out of kennels. We got the hedge cutting finished yesterday. The next job is moving on the the rearing paddocks where were going to re fence them and cut the hedges. Were schooling in Shelbourne tomorrow. On Tuesday I’m going to pick up the new van. On Wednesday John Nolan is coming to earmark pups. On Thursday were going to start the job in the rearing paddocks.
