WEEK STARTING MONDAY 8TH OF AUGUST

Monday 8th August:

A nice morning and the forecast is good for the week it’s been a busy morning as we needed all our waste away a load of bits and pieces from Floods in Newbridge, food for pups from supermarket and bits from the hardware in Monasterevin and we had to have everything fed before 12 o’clock as the main job of today is schooling at Shelbourne Park. On this week Greyhound Star British Performance of the week we have two hounds on it litter brother and sister Slider McCoy at Suffolk Downs and Swift Love at Yarmouth.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS AT NOTTINGHAM SWIFT WOFF AND CHURCHILL DUKE

Tuesday 9th August:

A nice day and the heat wave is back, we need fish, we need sawdust and a whole load more bits and pieces. At the kennels we are going to give the pups their first and second injections and we also have a trip to the vet. Several young pups were very impressive last night Swift Iconic and Swift Super at Nottingham in trials and at  Enniscorthy Swift Halo in her first race.

Wednesday 10th August:

Another nice day and we emptied the fish at 6am this morning that I came back with from Killybegs yesterday. The plans today we need trip to the vets for passports and bits and pieces, we also need bits and pieces from the hardware it will be to hot to hunt and gallop pups so we get the last of the pups injected and we also do a swap around with pups, mother and pups and sapling.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS AT HARLOW SWIFT AQUIT AND SWIFT UNO

Thursday 11th August:

The hot weather is here again and at 9.30am as we do the journal we have three quarters of the dogs fed as they just don’t want to eat in the heat. We will not be able to hunt and gallop and the main job will be give all the hounds plenty of fresh water, we need food for pups a a whole load of bits and pieces and we also need all our waste away.

Friday 12th August:

Another hot day and as we do the journal at 9.30 am we have three quarters of the hounds fed, we are cutting the grass in the rearing paddocks and we had a load of rubbish for the dump, we are finally going to get the vat to the accountant and the main job of today will be traying to get hounds cool.

Saturday 13th August:

Were doing Saturdays journal on Sunday morning. It was red hot again yesterday. We needed meat and I had to rush to the vets with a dog. At the kennels it was another day where we kept changing water and constantly checked hounds with the heat. I put my feet up at 2pm yesterday afternoon and I watched the Newcastle v Brighton game. We were lucky and we have gotten off to a brilliant start this season. If we can buy another couple of players we will have a real good team. Its no good buying players who are no better than the players we already have which we have done in the past. We have a good team and for the first time in years we wont have relegation worries.

Sunday 14th August:

Its not to be as hot today. I forgot to mention in yesterdays journal we have gotten the first part of the hedge cutting and the first part of the tidying up finished as well. We will probably do a bit more hedge cutting today and a bit more tidying up. We need to update the RCETS (greyhound tracing system) updated. We have over 70 July and August 2021 hounds to add to the dogs for sale page. We also have our weekly paperwork to catch up on.
