Tuesday 9th January:

We got the 2020 van serviced on Tuesday. We got the waste away to the dump, collected food for pups and a whole lot of other bits and pieces. At the kennels Ross Myles came to the yard to collect hounds that were sold going to the UK which makes the job much easier than having to drive to Portlaoise in the middle of the day. We did a swap around with hounds and pups. Swift Iconics mother Swift Biology had a litter of six pups during the night and all went well.

Wednesday 10th January:

The week has been nice and dry. We had frost a couple of days. We needed meat and we also got a delivery of dried meat. We got the swap around of hounds and pups and the worming done. We also did a major tidy up.

Thursday 11th January:

I was up early to catch the boat as we have ran out of paper and I cant get a lorry to bring it. Padgie rang me just as I got to the port saying the leaf spring had broke on the 2019 van. I collected the parts on the way back and we had the van up and running again by 10:30am. At the kennels it was a nice dry day with no frost. We did a bit of maintenance work and got the major tidy up finished.

Friday 12th January:

Friday was a nice day for January. Other than doing the everyday jobs of cleaning kennels, cooking, feeding and monitoring pups, the whole day was spent preparing hounds for schooling. I got the waste away in the afternoon and collected food for pups.
