WEEK STARTING MONDAY THE 27TH OF JULY

MONDAY THE 27TH OF JULY

It is still warm but not as hot today. The first job was to collect fish , get food for pups from the supermarket and before we went to trials at Kilkenny we were swapping mother and pups around plus trimming their nails and worming them as well. We trialed at 1:30 pm today so the last job of the day is updating the dog for sale page

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS AT NOTTINGHAM TONIGHT LYNNIA MAX AND SWIFT KIPPER

TUESDAY THE 28TH OF JULY

Another nice day and it’s definitely going to get hot. I’ve been to collect 2 brand new sheds ready to go in to the new rearing paddock with all the young pups I have also been to the vets to get supplies. We spent the whole morning preparing hounds for schooling before gets to hot. We will probably send a brood that is in season to Droopys Stud for mating she is a daughter of Swift Wriggle by Calloway Pro am  and with the bit of luck we will get all our waste away to dump this afternoon.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD TWO WINNERS  LAST NIGHT AT NOTTINGHAM LYNNIA MAX AND SWIFT KIPPER. BELOW WRITE UP IS TAKING FROM TODAY GREYHOUND STAR.

Terry Munslow has had a great time of things with Swift Kipper who has won 13 of her last 21 starts. Once more it was her early pace that won her the day, getting herself to the bend with something to spare over her rivals which saw her miss out on the trouble behind.

Out and gone tactics were also the order of the day for Jill Llewellin’s Lynnia Max, a smart 5.04 split seeing him arrive at the bend with a lead that he wouldn’t relinquish. He had bounced back to winning ways in an A4 last time out, so it looks like he took plenty of confidence forward for getting his head in front again.

WEDNESDAY THE 29TH OF JULY

A busy day the whole morning was took up preparing more hounds for schooling, we have erected the two sheds ready for the pups to go in to tomorrow in the new rearing paddock. As normal there were supplies to collect, food for pups from the supermarket and meat. We have also done a massive tidy up from my house to the kennels garages and yards.

THURSDAY  THE 30TH OF JULY

Today was a very busy day we had a delivery of Time dog food we got all the hounds checked that are schooling plus the our may 2025 saplings. We needed paper bedding so that had to be collected, we have another brood had pups 12 in total mother and pups are doing fantastic.

FRIDAY THE  31ST OF JULY

We need meat so that will have to be collected. The paper bedding will have to be emptied from the van and packed away and as normal we need a lot of bits and pieces of supplies. We are changing beds in all the kennels and we have several litters that will be going to the rearing paddocks and also getting their nails trimmed and getting wormed.

SATURDAY THE 1ST OF AUGUST

I start with the big news first Swift Vicky is 15 years of age today she lives in the house with me and she’s never been a real pet but she’s been a lady who hunted on the field around me, she’s only ever eat tin corn beef, chicken and steak from the supermarket plus smoked salmon and wouldn’t eat dog food to save her life, what a live she has and may it continue for a long time to come.
