ON THE OPEN RACES SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE FOUR RUNNERS TONIGHT AT NEWCASTLE SWIFT SILLY IN THE FINAL OF THE ALL ENGLAND CUP ,   SWIFT JOSH IN THE PUPPY FINAL,  SWIFT GAVIN IN THE SPRINT FINAL  SWIFT ICONIC IN THE ARENA RACING FINAL.

Friday 29th December:

What a night last night it was at Newcastle. Swift Silly was Ray Hales first Cat 1 winner and also Michael Thompsons first cat 1 winner. Raymond got a hound off me 33 years ago to race at Ashington Flaps. Not in his wildest dream would he have though that 33 years later he would be getting another hound that would be winning the All England cup. Well done Raymond. Michael said to me a while ago that all he wanted to do was win an open race. He has now won a cat 1. Micheal helped me with the greyhounds while he was going to school. Not in his wildest dreams when he was taking dogs on from at Ashington to Asken did he ever think he would end off being the owner of a cat 1 winner. Swift Silly is arguably the fastest bitch in the UK after her run on Thursday night. Swift Sillys mother Swift Magnitude is in season and will be mated next week to The Other Kobe. When he used to say to me all he wanted was an open race winner I would tell him hes doing it the wrong way as he bought Swift Silly and Swift Josh when they were 10 month old out of the paddock before they had even been on a lead never mind a drag hare or handslip. Luckily he didnt listen to me. I bet when he was a young lad coming across the heather fields to help with the hounds that he would end off with a group one winner. Back in the day when I was in Stakeford there was always a gang of us that went racing. Dinky Armstrong who showed me all about greyhounds was always with us as well. Sadly he passed away a few years ago. He would have been so proud had he been here on Thursday night. I have no doubt he was looking down on us. In my 30 years of breeding greyhounds I have breed hounds that have won everything in the UK from the Derby, all Cat 1 events and the only one that was missing from my CV was the All England Cup. Being from Newcastle it was the one I always wanted to win. What a night for the boys from Stakeford.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD TWO WINNERS LAST NIGHT. AT NEWCASTLE SWIFT SILLY WON  THE FINAL OF THE ALL ENGLAND CUP (CAT 1) AND SWIFT JOSH WON THE PUPPY FINAL. TONIGHT WE HAVE 8 RUNNERS. AT ROMFORD: SWIFT KELVIN, SWIFT IAN, SWIFT YURT, WRIGHTY. AT OXFORD: SWIFT TAMANA, SWIFT TANIA AND BRISK BONO. AT VALLEY: DUBAI KID.
