Monday 22nd April:

Another glorious day. Were going to try and get caught up with everything. We have a bit of paperwork to do. Whatever happens we will do the flea treatment and change the beds in our second field. We might even hunt a few pups. Newcastle United are now mathematically safe.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT SWIFT BISCUIT AT CENTRAL PARK.

TONIGHT WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS AT PELAW GRANGE: SWIFT MARVELETTE AND SWIFT JIM AT DONCASTER.

Tuesday 23rd april:

The good weather ends today and as we do the journal at 8:30 its overcast, the rain is needed for the rearing paddocks. The plans today is to get rid of all our waste, trials at newbridge, hunt pups, bag straw and do a major tidy up and finish the paperwork off and organise hounds that are sold to go to the uk. We have broods in season so i have to pick stud dogs for them. ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD TWO WINNERS SWIFT MARVELETTE AND SWIFT JIM. TONIGHT WE HAVE FOUR RUNNERS AT SHEFFIELD CONEY BOOM BOOM, WOKEEN, CONEY SABELLA AND CONEY CASSIUS.

Wednesday 24th april:

The good weather has come to an end so we will try hunt a few pups, there is supplies to collect as normal and the hounds that are sold have just left with ross myles to go to the uk. The roadworks on the N7 will have the first faze finished in the next three weeks as its a nightmare getting up and down to dublin so that is good news. Swift blitz who lives in the house with me is not well so we will have to go to the vets again with her.

Thursday 25th april:

Breeding greyhounds is a rollercoaster and the worst part of the job for me  is having to put an old retired brood to sleep which i will have to do today with heroes last lass, she is a few days short of being fifteen year old and her back legs are just about completely gone. In recent months she has started to lose weight and also started to get very miserable in herself and we are now having to lift her to get her to go out and clean herself and i have spoke to the vet before doing the journal and says they cant do nothing more, she bred a group one winner in viking jack who is doing well in stud, she bred a load more good dogs starting with bramble magpie who got to the puppy derby final, heroes last lass had road sense and use to like to watch everything that was going on and would spend hours looking up my road, she would take herself in her younger days in the fields around where we live but never wondered too far away. ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER AT HOVE SWIFT REGAL.

Friday 26th April:

Were doing the journal late on Friday afternoon as its been a hectic day. We got heavy rain which always makes the work hard. We had all our waste to take away. We had to get caught up with the endless job of paperwork. We had a whole lot of care work with young pups and collected supplies. We had to put Heros Last Lass to sleep yesterday which put a real dampner among us all. As I’ve said to the lads she had a great life and a great retirement. Swift Blitz and Swift Sandy who also live in the house with me are having good and bad days today being one of the good days.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER AT ROMFORD TONIGHT SWIFT SABBATH.

Saturday 27th April:

We had heavy wind overnight which caused storm damage. Thankfully the damage isnt too bad. We done temperary repair work until we can fix it properly next week which has taken us the best part of the day. We had supplies to collect and a mountian of running around to do. Newcastle are on the TV at 5:50pm against Brighton so I will be watching that. My two retired broods that are having health issues Swift Sandy and Swift Blitz are both having a good day.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS TONIGHT AT CRAYFORD: SWIFT CASEY AND MEGAPOPS.

Sunday 28th April:

Its a dull overcast day and the first bad news is Swift Sandy is coming to an end. I’ll take her to the vets in the morning but I know it wont be good news. I will never be as pleased to see the end of April. The plans for the day is to take away the waste straw, collect fresh straw, bits and pieces of paperwork, pups to get their first injection and prepare for a busy week.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT MEGAPOPS AT CRAYFORD.

TONIGHT WE HAVE ONE RUNNER AT CENTRAL PARK SWIFT BISCUIT.
