WEEK STARTING MONDAY 16TH MARCH

Monday 16th March:

We doing the journal at Monday lunch time as I’ve left the house at 5am this morning to collect supplies, we have been to Shelbourne Park hand slipping hounds and we update the dog for sale page next. Monasterevin has gone in to lock down all the pubs closed yesterday there is no take away open today, hairdressers, hardware or café and I’ve just been to the bank and the girl at the counter was rapped up like she was going to rob the place.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE FOUR RUNNERS TONIGHT AT NOTTINGHAM WE HAVE DRAHBEG DASH,SWIFT FERDIA AND SWIFT TARQUIN AND AT DONCASTER GREENEND NANCY

Tuesday 17th March:

We doing Tuesdays journal on Wednesday morning as I day tripped to England yesterday, I couldn’t believe how busy England was and looked if everything was normal it was Paddy’s day in Ireland and they tell me it was very quiet and just like a normal day but everything was closed. At the kennels we did A swap with hounds, pups and saplings from paddocks to kennels and from runs to paddocks and we also hunted pups.

Wednesday 18th March:

A nice morning and plenty to do, I missed the ferry home last night so I had to get the 2.40 am ferry this morning and I was back at the kennels at 7am and Padgie had all the kennels cleaned, top man as normal plus Mirus had the cooking done, we are going to hunt pups and get all our waste away. Ross Miles has collected hounds that are sold that are going to the UK and we also need supplies.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER TONIGHT AT HARLOW  SWIFT CONQUEST.

THURSDAY 19TH MARCH

A cold dry morning and plenty to do, we are changing beds everywhere and cutting dogs nails this will take two or three days to do all the beds and hounds nails. we need supplies, parts for the van and little bit of paper work to do.

ON THE OPEN RACES SCENE IN THE UK  WE HAD ONE WINNER AT HARLOW SWIFT CONQUEST TONIGHT AT SHELBOURNE PARK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS IN A OPEN UNRACE STAKE SWIFT LOTUS AND URBAN KID.

Friday 20th March:

Were doing Fridays journal on Saturday morning as I went for fish and left at 5am. When I got back the freezer wasnt working and I had to go for parts. The last time the fan got broken in the freezer I was charged €220 plus Vat to get it repaired. A friend yesterday told me where I could get the fan from and it was just out the road in Portlaoise. I couldnt believe it the part cost €10 including Vat and it took Miroush 1 minute to change it. At the kennels we did the last of the bed changing and the last or the worming and nail cutting. We also tidied the garage to prepare for the dog food coming from Red Mills and Gain.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE SIX RUNNERS AT ROMFORD: SWIFT SABBATH, COLLSWOOD HAWK, MASSIVE EGO, SWIFT IMPEACH, SWIFT COPE AND SWIFT TARQUIN.

Saturday 21st March:

As we do the journal at 7am its a dry, overcast morning. We have supplies to collect, all our waste to get rid of, a trip to the cash and carry and the Red Mills to pack away. Plus the everyday jobs of cooking, cleaning, feeding and letting out. We have broods for testing at Michael Dunnes.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE EIGHT RUNNERS TONIGHT. IN THE PUPPY DERBY FINAL AT MONMORE FANTASTICAL AND SWIFT LETTUCE. AT HOVE SWIFT JAGUAR. AT SHEFFIELD INCA CONEY CONEY CALYT GRUMPY TINKER, CONEY KRAKATOA AND CONEY KUONI.

Sunday 22nd March:

A bright and dry morning with no wind and no chance of rain. Its going to be a typical Sunday where we clean, cook, feed and let hounds out that are in kennels six times a day. We need bits and pieces such as gas for the small boiler, veg and oil. We have a little bit of work to do on the website. There is a small bit of tidying up that has to be done. The farmers around us are ploughing their fields so we need our rodent boxes filled. Our Red Mills came last night. We just need our Gain and we will be fully stocked. We might hunt a few pups.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE ENDED WITH A WINNER AS THERE IS NO OPEN RACING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. THE WINNER WAS CONEY KRAKATOA.
