WEEK STARTING 27TH MAY:

TO SEE EACH DAYS JOURNAL FOR THIS WEEK CLICK ON WEEK STARTING 27TH MAY ON THE TOP OF THE PAGE.

Monday 27th may:

Its not a bank holiday in southern ireland like the uk, we have got supplies to collect, major work to do on the gallop, bits of paperwork to do, im back to the doctors to get my bloods done, sunderland missed out on promotion in the play-offs and it looks like newcastle united has been sold can life get better. The broods i was concerned about who live with me in the house swift sandy and swift blitz are doing brilliant and everything else is going very well.

Tuesday 28th may:

A lot cooler this morning and ideal for trials. We have straw to bag, the last of the tidying up has to be done today as well, as normal we need supplies and we have all our waste to go away. We have broods for testing at micheal dunnes and we are going to try and gallop a load of pups which will be as much as we can do today and there is no open racing in the uk tonight.

Wednesday 29th may:

We have had rain and will probably get more today, we need fish so it looks like it will be a long day for somebody and i look favourite. We have a massive swap around to do with pups, mothers and saplings. Swift blitz and swift sandy are having a bad day. We hope to gallop  and if we get all this done we have had a good day work wise. ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER AT HARLOW POINTLESS PRAISE.

Thursday 30th may:

We are doing the journal at 8:15 am and then i am heading for the vets as i have to put swift sandy to sleep the mother of swift keith yarmouth derby winner and swift blitz the mother of tv trophy winner hometown honey, they both bred other top open class dogs and top open race winners, the worst part of breeding greyhounds for me is having to go to the vets with them to put them to sleep other than that we are trialing at newbridge as the show has to go on as my late mother would say. ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT AT HARLOW POINTLESS PRAISE, TONIGHT WE HAVE THREE RUNNERS AT HOVE SWIFT BISCUIT, BRITANNIA WILL AND SWIFT FERDIA.

Friday 31st may:

An overcast morning but i dont think we will get rain. The first job is to gallop, we need straw and we need food for pups and that will probably be as much as we can do today. We are going to update our handslips from yesterday around 12 oclock today and several of them was very special so a very good day at newbridge. We live in a racehorse town and i am invited to the curragh later today to watch a horse work which comes with a tag absolute certainty in its first race which i have only heard ten thousand times but it will fill my evening in. ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD TWO WINNERS SWIFT BISCUIT WON HIS 14TH RACE OF THE YEAR WHICH MAKES HIM THE LEADING OPEN RACE WINNER AND BRITANNIA WILL WON THE TOMMY SMITH 490M FINAL BOTH AT HOVE. TONIGHT WE HAVE THREE RUNNERS AT ROMFORD SWIFT SABBATH, SWIFT TARQUIN AND OH YESYESYES.

Saturday 1st June:

Its an overcast morning but it doesnt look like its going to rain. We have plenty to do. Were doing a massive swap with pups, saplings and hounds. Padgie insists that I bring Swift Salt and Swift Vicky into the house for their retirement. Im now back to having four in the house. On about hounds retired and living in my house, Swift Babe gets up every morning and lays outside the kennels, doesnt bother anybody and watches all the work going on. When we gallop she is at the bottom of the gallop watching and when we hunt pups she is at the top of the field watching. Just completely different to Swift Eva who is a complete couch potato. We have loads of supplies to collect. We have broods to take to Michael Dunnes and all our waste to take away.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT AT ROMFORD SWIFT SABBATH. TONIGHT WE HAVE SIX RUNNERS. AT CRAYFORD: SWIFT ADVICE, SWIFT CASEY AND UNION PRIDE. AT PERRY BARR: MEGAPOPS AND CROSSKEYSCISCO. AT NOTTINGHAM SWIFT JIM.

Sunday 2nd june:

We are doing sundays journal on monday morning due to yesterday been a hectic day as its a bank holiday weekend in southern ireland and plus the leinster championship of the rings was held in the belyard for anyone who does not know what the game rings is its where you throw six rings at a board with all numbers on and you add your score up. One thing i have to say the people of monasterevin would definitely celebrate a cat having kittens as this has been a major celebration the game of rings as several locals won trophys. At the kennels it was a typical sunday where we cleaned, cooked, fed and let dogs out and did the every day jobs of changing water and picking up the waste. ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE RUNNER AT CENTRAL PARK MINTBET BOG.
