WEEK STARTING MONDAY 12TH OF DECEMBER

Monday 12th December:

The forecast is not good till Friday of this week so all we can do work wise is keep dogs warm and feed them three times a day. We have maintenance work to do plus paper to collect for bedding. No trials at Shelbourne park today.

ON THE OPEN RACES SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER TONIGHT AT NOTTINGHAM OLD FORT BEETEE.

Tuesday 13th December:

We are doing Tuesdays journal on Wednesday afternoon. Tuesday was a very cold day and it was blow freezing all day, we still have to carry water from my house and we are still feeding three times a day , we had brood due to have pups and we have plenty off heating on with her. We needed meat and owing to the bad weather it took a full day to get there and back ,we also went to the vet for our weekly trip.

Wednesday 14th December:

Been a busy day and the weather is still very cold. We needed all our waste away bits and pieces from the hardware to do maintenance work, we also needed Kasko dog food so that had to be collected, at the kennels everything is still frozen owing to the weather and all we can do is keep hounds warm and change beds and prepare for our Christmas supplies coming.

THURSDAY15TH DECEMBER

As I do the journal it is -7 degrees at 6am but it got to get much milder by Sunday  +12 degrees thank goodness. The plan today is the same as all week feed three time a day keep hounds warm ,change beds carry water from my house as well. We also have to  go for red mills and meat. plus meet Kevin Kelly with hounds that are sold going to the UK.

FRIDAY 16TH DECEMBER

Were doing Fridays journal on Sunday morning. It was another day with heavy frost and all the kennels outside taps were still frozen. I day tripped to England for breakfast cereal. At the kennels all of the yards and roads were frozen solid. All we could do is what we’ve done all week which is feed three times a day, carry water from my house and keep hounds warm.

ON THE OPEN RACES SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE SEVEN  RUNNERS ON FRIDAY NIGHT AT ROMFORD MONROES KISS, SILDER MCCOY, SWIFT MELLOW AND MISS BIG PANTS AND AT OXFORD IN THE SEMI FINAL OF THE CHALLENGE CUP  MUXTON LOTTIE AND WOTA SWELL PARTY ALSO AT OXFORD SWIFT TANIA.

Saturday 17th December:

Our Christmas supplies are starting to come and we had an artic load of paper to empty. The thaw started and the ground was dangerous all day. We washed the vans in the afternoon when we got our taps working again. We fed all the hounds and there was nothing else we could do other than tidy owing to the weather.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER SLIDER MCCOY AT ROMFORD. OXFORD WAS CANCELLED OWING TO THE WEATHER AND RESCHEDULED FOR TONIGHT. WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS IN THE CHALLENGE CUP: WOTA SWELL PARTY AND MUXTON LOTTIE. 

Sunday 18th December:

The frost is gone thank goodness. It will be a day for tidying, preparing for Christmas, feeding and probable trying to sort the gallop as it needs tidying up after the bad weather. We have paperwork to do and the website also to tidy. Its the final of the world cup tonight so I’ll watch that. I’m looking forward to the premiership starting next weekend. Were well prepared for the Christmas but we have a busy few days ahead of us.
