MONDAY 27TH NOVEMBER

Like all Monday we will have to have all hounds fed by 12 o’clock lunch time, so we are on the road to Dublin for the main job of the day trailing in Shelbourne park. At the kennels we have all the maintenance going on all day like the past two weeks. All the paperwork has to be posted off as well.

TUESDAY 28TH OF NOVEMBER

It was a very frosty morning on Tuesday when we started at 6am. the first job of  the  day was a trip to the vets, we also had to meet Michael Flynn who took hounds to the UK for their new owners. All the waste had to go to the dump as well, at the kennels it was a day for changing beds and keeping hounds warm.

WEDNESDAY 29TH NOVEMBER

Today was a very cold and foggy when we started work , so I went myself for meat as the road were bad. We also have go to the cash and carry, Browns and Joyces for steel bars to make the new kennels doors and the 12 block is just about finish plus the sand runs are also finish as well .

Thursday 30th November:

We got a delivery of paper bedding from the UK. Again we got up to heavy frost which make the job very difficult. There was very little we could do outside as the frost didn’t lift all day. We topped up all the kennel beds. We continued on repairing the kennel doors and did a bit more maintenance work.

Friday 1st December:

Friday was another very cold day. It was -5 degrees when we started work. We had to carry water from my house as everything was frozen. There was absolutely nothing we could do outside. It took almost the whole day to carry bucket of water from my house to the kennels and rearing paddocks. I more or less took the day off myself. We got one of the vans serviced.

Saturday 2nd December:

Saturday was another cold day. When we started at 6am it was -5 degrees again. I went for meat myself and it took forever to get there as it was foggy. I also went to the dump in the afternoon. At the kennels it was another day that we had to carry the water from my house as everywhere was frozen. The only other thing we could do was change beds in all the kennels and keep hounds warm. Newcastle United had a fantastic victory against Man Utd. We have a load of injuries but we dominated the game.

Sunday 3rd December:

There is very little frost today thank goodness. We have water outside in all the kennels and kitchen for the first time in a few days. It will be a typical Sunday where we do paperwork, tidy the website up and do a tify up outside after the frost. We need food for pups from the supermarket.
