WEEK STARTING MONDAY THE 22ND OF DECEMBER

MONDAY THE 22ND OF DECEMBER

A nice dry day and the first job of the day was a trip to the vets . We got the flat in the yard just about tidied up and looks like new. We had to be fed up early for the main job of the day trialing in Kilkenny . We got a puncture in one of the vans and no spare wheel lucky it happened next to tire services and we got the two spare wheels fixed as well and at 5:30 we got the website all done and the day went well.

TUESDAY THE 23RD OF DECEMBER

A dry morning and a busy day . We have a lorry full of paper arriving from the UK so that may be packed away. We are changing all the beds when the paper arrives . We are going to worm pups and trim their nails . We have a brood due to have pups and there is broods in season so they will have to be tested and there is bits and pieces of maintenance to do.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER AT SUFFOLK DOWNS SWIFT UNITE.

WEDNESDAY THE 24TH OF DECEMBER

Christmas eve and a nice dry morning . We need meat we have the vet coming to do passports as the sales department has been busy thanks to everyone that bought a hound. We will do a swap around with hounds , pups and saplings worming and trimming their nails of the last few pups that need to be done . We will do a major tidy up and that’s everything done for the Christmas. On this weeks greyhound star Irish performance of the week we have one hound on the list Hawkfield Garry previous name Swift Garry. The write up below is taking from the greyhound star

The youngest on the list this week is June 24 whelp Hawkfield Garry who made a slick race debut at Dundalk. Only Lennies Tank and Broadstrand Syd have dipped under 20.85 this year, so his 21.20 on his first career outing is a sensational starting point. Potentially more interesting, however, is John McGee’s Hawkfield Grant who gave Garry a six-length beating in a 525y trial at Shelbourne on November 8!.

THURSDAY THE 25TH OF DECEMBER

A Merry Christmas to all the greyhound industry and all friends and customers.

The plan for Christmas day will get all kennels cleaned and all hounds fed and let out for second or third time by 11am . We will head for our Christmas lunch then come back in the afternoon and let hounds out that are in kennels again.

FRIDAY THE 26TH OF DECEMBER

Its another dry frosty morning which makes the work a lot easier. The plan for today is the same as Christmas day. We will have all the hounds fed , kennels cleaned between 10:30 to 11 o clock. We have baby pups to worm and trim their nails and there is also factory meat to collect in northern Ireland and whatever happens i will watch Newcastle united vs Man united tonight and the best thing about St. Stephens day is that there is a full program of sport. I’m heading to pagies (My head lad) for lunch like I did on Christmas day and this afternoon we will watch horse racing , dog racing and football in between letting hounds out that are in kennels.

SATURDAY THE 27TH OF DECEMBER

Things are back to normal today. Were going to change all the beds in all the kennels, yards and sheds. We have a pile of rubbish the size of mount Everest which cant go to the dump as its closed. We have mating forms to fill in, vans to wash, maintenance work and a bit of a tidy up to do as well. I thought Newcastle were terrible against Man Utd last night.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK AND IRELAND WE HAVE TEN RUNNERS AT CENTRAL PARK MARTINDALE LAD , EARLS RUBY AND EARLS ROSIE. AT HOVE SWIFT MEGAN , RULES FOR SOME AND SWIFT JARVIS. AT NEWCASTLE UNANIMOUS LEON. AT ROMFORD SWIFT DEPOT AND SWIFT CARLO. AT SHELBOURNE PARK DWELL MOCK.

SUNDAY THE 28TH OF DECEMBER

It will be a typical Sunday where we cook, clean, feed and let hounds out of kennels. Other than that we will get caught up with the paperwork.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE FIVE RUNNERS AT TOWCESTER SWIFT QUILL AND HITTHEILDS PAULO. AT THE VALLEY SWIFT IDA , SWIFT OILEAN AND SWIFT ZIG.
