At the kennels we continued on with the maintenance work and prepared more hounds for schooling. On the greyhound star British performance of the week we have one hound on this weeks list Tiffield Tarquin at Romford the write up below is taking from the star
Tiffield Tarquin will head into the final of the Coral Essex Vase on Friday night as one of two unbeaten finalists and the market leader to take home the £10,000 winner’s cheque. His 34.74 run matched the one that he produced in the semis of the Champion Stakes back in October, though he would find New Destiny too strong on that occasion and Mark Wallis’s bitch looms large again from her perfect draw coming up.

Last night was one of those special nights in greyhound racing for myself and everybody at the kennels , when Tiffield Tarquin previous name Swift Triumph when he won the group one final Essex Vase at Romford. The write up below is taking form the racing post
TIFFIELD TARQUIN, trained by Roy Peckham for owners Bill and Jenni McColl, brought house down at Romford on Friday night as the 6-5 favourite completed an unbeaten run through the Coral Essex Vase.
It was a first major success for his trainer, and after two smash and grab victories from the front in the previous rounds, Tiffield Tarquin showed trackcraft, maturity and a real racing brain to take the £10,000 final in front of a large and appreciative crowd at the London Road circuit.
The early pace had been set by Maxine Locke’s Out The Blue, who had also reached the Category One showdown unbeaten, but Tiffield Tarquin quickly recovered from a tardy start by his standards to put himself in second spot early.
Tucking inside the leader at the second bend afforded him the racing room he needed and the Derby quarter-finalist roared alongside Locke’s bitch and almost bounced off her to take charge at the third turn.
From that point on the son of Broadstrand Bono was not for catching and he stormed home almost five lengths clear of Belinda Green’s 575m track record-holder Gary The Arb in 34.89sec (going normal for all), who shaded Out The Blue in the final strides for
