WEEK STARTING MONDAY 5TH OF APRIL

Monday 5th April:

We are three days behind with a journal so we are Mondays journal on Wednesday morning. Monday was a Bank Holiday we started as normal at 6am and finished at 3pm and Swift Magnum had 9 pups and all went well the other two broods that had their pups early hours of Saturday are also doing fantastic. It was just like a Sunday where we feed, clean kennels, cooked and let hounds out that are in kennels.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE RUNNER AT NOTTINGHAM SWIFT FERDIA.

Tuesday 6th April:

I day tripped to UK for supplies and the ferries were never as quiet. At the kennels we continue on leveling the sand runs, hunted pups, tidy the garages.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE RUNNER AT TOWCESTER SWIFT GUARD.

Wednesday 7th April:

A busy day today, we need all our waste away, food for pups, service kit for the vans, tyres and a whole lot more bits and pieces. I need to find fish, we will hunt pups and our order from Gain and O’Neills is coming today.

Thursday 8th April:

A cold dry morning and I got back late with fish yesterday and we have packed in to the freezer this morning. We need supplies and I must go to the cash and carry. The vans need to be serviced so I will have to organize that. At the kennels we will prepare dogs for schooling do maintenance work.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER AT PERRY BARR SWIFT COPE.

Friday 9th April:

It looks like it’s going to be dry day all going well we will get the last sand run level out we will gallop, hunt pups and prepare more hounds for schooling. We need bits and pieces from the vets, supermarket and I will have to plan a busy weekend.

Saturday 10th April:

It was a very cold start to the day at 6am. I only had Padgie until lunchtime as he is having more problems with his teeth. We had to collect supplies, we took our waste to the dump and were tidying up all our gardens. The gallop was frozen solid this morning so no galloping. We have also decided not to hunt as there will be patches in the field rock solid. We have a brood due to pup tonight so we will be keeping a close eye on her. Newcastle United got off to a good start in their survival battle with Fulham getting beaten last night. If we can get a result tomorrow it would put us 6 points clear and Fulham only have six games left. I would even be happy with a point. The 2019 van is gone for a service. We need food for pups from the supermarket.

Sunday 11th April:

Its a cold and dry morning and it was -4 degrees overnight. We have a brood having pups and she has had 4 up to now at 7:30am. Padgie is off today but there isn’t much we can do owing to the weather. We got the van serviced and we got the gardens tidied. It will be a typical Sunday where we cook, clean, feed and let hounds out of kennels. Its a big game for Newcastle United at 12 today. If we get a point I would be happy. If we get 3 were nearly touching safety for another year. Ross Myles is delivering hounds to the UK for us. He expects to arrive at Ferrybridge at 8am.
