WEEK STARTING MONDAY 19TH OF JULY

Monday 19th July:

Another very hot day, no trials in Shelbourne Park today as is to hot. We need supplies, food for pups, we need to go to the dump and at the kennels will be another day for changing water 4 or 5 times a day plus everyday jobs.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER TONIGHT CHURCHILL HOLLY AT NOTTINGHAM.

Tuesday 20th July:

Another red hot day and I’m back to normal after getting my second injection and it took nearly a week for me to come right. It’s another day where we are feeding early and changing water and watching pups and hounds for the heat, we will take photographs of hounds that are going to start schooling and add them to greyhound data, we will wash the vans. On the Greyhound Star British Performance of the week we had Churchill Holly at Nottingham. We got the very sad news yesterday that Mick O’Reilly has past away he was always at Shelbourne Park a real dog man and a great person and always happy RIP Mick.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT AT NOTTINGHAM CHURCHILL HOLLY WINNER OF ARC STANDARD TROPHY FINAL.

Wednesday 21th July:

We are doing Wednesday journal on Thursday morning as yesterday was a busy day the brood we took to Good News got mated it was the hottest day of the year and half of my day was wasted as I had to go to Clonmel to ICC to sort paper work. At the kennels it was another day for changing water watching dogs closely along with pups and saplings I have both fingers crossed but it’s all gone well in the heat wave.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD TWO RUNNERS AT NEWCASTLE SWIFT BINDING AND POTENT TOUCH.

Thursday 22th July:

Another red hot day so the plan with hounds, pups and saplings will be the same as the last few days, we have supplies here from England. We will finally get the photographs put on to the Swift Palmer litter on the dog for sale page and add them to greyhound data today.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER AT NEWCSTLE LAST NIGHT POTENT TOUCH.

Friday 23th July:

another red hot day and I left Lughill Kennels at 3am this morning to collect fish from Killybegs. It’s another day that we can do nothing with dogs owing to the heat, everything is the same as the whole week we are changing water few times a day and trying to keep dogs cool.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE THREE RUNNESR TONIGHT. IN THE ROMFORD FRIDAY NIGHT 500 MAIDEN FINAL: RAIL MCCOY AND SWIFT EFFIGY AT ROMFORD. AT NOTTINGHAM IN THE ARC STANDARD TROPHY FINAL: CHURCHILL HOLLY.

Saturday 24th July:

Were doing Saturdays journal on Sunday morning as it was a hectic day. The weather was hot again but not as hot as its been thank goodness. We did a swap around with pups, saplings and kennel dogs and we have a brood due to have pups so she had to be watched. We needed supplies and I got our waste away. The day went well.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD TWO WINNERS; RAILS MCCOY AND CHURCHILL HOLLY. WE HAVE THREE RUNNERS TONIGHT: AT HOVE SWIFT REPAIR. AT SHEFFIELD SWIFT WOLF AND PIPPAPIPPAPOPS.

Sunday 25th July:

Its another hot day but the temperatures wont be as high as it has been. We got through the week with no problems with any hounds as I was sure we would need a trip to the vets. Thankfully I never had to go. Padgie is off today and it will be a typical Sunday where we clean, cook, feed and let hounds out of kennels.
