WEEK STARTING MONDAY 1ST OF FEBRUARY

Monday 1st of February:

We are doing Mondays journal on Tuesday morning. Monday was a very busy day but all went well we got our waste away, trialled at Shelbourne Park, tidy the garages up and did a lot of small jobs. The only bad news the 151 van broke down we were lucky to get home hopefully we will get it back on Tuesday night I should of bought a brand new van.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER AT TOWCESTER IN THE BLUE RIBAND SEMI FINAL SWIFT LETTUCE.

Tuesday 2nd February:

A busy start to the day, we got 151 van to the mechanic and he is working on it now and Downey’s have all the parts so we should get it back tonight. I have to meet Ross Myles in Cashel at 11.45 with hounds that are sold going to the UK that is just about the back log of sold hounds off to the UK. Our Gain dog food has arrived so we have packed away the next job is to swap mother and pups, saplings and kennel dogs around plus kennel up saplings. Newcastle United after there big win on Saturday against Everton and we played very well take on Crystal Palace tonight lets hope for another 3 points and we also have more supplies coming and loads of supplies to collect today lets hope all goes well today.

Wednesday 3rd February:

We are doing Wednesdays journal on Thursday morning as I day trip to the UK to get supplies. The ferries are a bit busier and the customs at the ports are a bit easier. At the kennels we finished the swap around and we hunted pups. The 151 van is like a brand new lets hope there is no more problems. Newcastle United are back to square one and we had rain this week like never before.

Thursday 4th February:

The rain has stopped for the first time in a week. We had brood mated yesterday so they are back home now. We will probably prepare more hounds for schooling, we have a bit paper work to do and we will hunt pups for the day.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE THREE RUNNERS AT NEWCASTLE SWIFT BINDING, SWIFT GUARD AND SWIFT SENSIBLE.

Friday 5th February:

Were doing Fridays journal on Sunday morning as were having huge problems getting supplies from the UK so I day tripped again. At the kennels we got the hounds checked that are schooling, galloped and hunted. We also finished the last bit of swapping around. We made boxes and beds as we have a brood about to have pups.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER TONIGHT MASSIVE EGO AT ROMFORD.

Saturday 6th February:

Were doing Saturdays journal on Sunday morning. It was the first dry day we have had in weeks. We galloped and hunted more hounds, did a tidy up, collected supplies and I watched the Newcastle United game on TV. Typical of Newcastle we were cruising at one stage and ended off down to nine men but still managed to win. Were now on 25 points and you would definitely stay up this year with 35 points. Another three wins and were safe again. Were now on the bare boards for defenders and I dont expect us to take any points from the next two games. I have been to the UK twice this week and the customs and police at the docks are a nightmare. You can escape from Portlaoise prison easier than you can get through the docks at the minute. The paperwork is horrendous and the checks at the port go on forever. Just a couple of years ago you wouldnt see a customs person at the docks at Dublin. Now we have hundreds looking for any reason to stop you.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE SIX RUNNERS TONIGHT. AT MONMORE WE HAVE ZOOM ANGEL, CHURCHILL HOLLY. AT TOWCESTER: SWIFT LETTUCE. AT CRAYFORD: NORMANSLAND FLYER, SWIFT JAGUAR AND SWIFT LOKI.

Sunday 7th February:

Its a cold dry morning and a typical Sunday. We will cook, clean, feed and let dogs out of kennels. The only extra work that will get done is we will hunt a few pups. With a bit of luck we will clean the vans. The 2019 van will have to go back to the mechanic to get tested again this coming Wednesday even though the old test is only four months old. We will prepare for another busy week.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT: NORMANSLAND FLYER AT CRAYFORD.
