MONDAY THE 2ND OF FEBRUARY
We are doing Monday’s journal on Tuesday morning. It was a bank holiday in southern Ireland on Monday but a normal day at the kennels. We had dried rice and cereal to collect. We did a major tidy up. We have broods due to have pups so were going to have to watch them for the next few days. We made all the lists. Had John O’reily here checking hounds that are schooling and Newcastle united made no signings in the January transfer window.
TUESDAY THE 3RD OF FEBRUARY
A cold dry day and ideal for the main job for the day which is prepare more hounds for schooling. I need to go for the vets and I also have a hound to deliver that is sold.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS AT STAR PELAW SWIFT YAWN AND AT SUFFOLK DOWNS SWIFT COMRADE.
WEDNESDAY THE 4TH OF FEBRUARY
Another dry day which is very rare at the minute in Ireland and when we started at 6am it was 7 degrees with no wind so not a bad day for February. I have parts to change for the 191 van. We need sawdust and at the kennels it will be another where we prepare hounds for schooling which will take all day. Newcastle united need a miracle tonight against Man city in the semi final of the league cup to make it to the final.

THURSDAY THE 6TH OF FEBRUARY
As we get the open race runners we will add them to the weekly journal.
A day that just didn’t go right. Newcastle united were very poor last night and I thought our goalie was outstanding. We were fed up early for the main job of the day trialing and handslipping in Kilkenny. After seven trials the heavens opened like never before and there was no sign of the rain stopping so I decided to come home with all hounds , myself and my staff safe and sound. As hounds and myself and pagie would of been drowned
FRIDAY THE 7TH OF FEBRUARY
The weather was mainly dry thank goodness. We did a swap around with pups, saplings and kennel hounds. We needed muzzles, disinfectant. I had a part to change for the 2019 van. We also did a major tidy up. There was meat and tripe that arrived from Northern Ireland which was as good as ever. We also had the vet here. The day went well.

SATURDAY THE 8TH OF FEBRUARY
We need more meat. Were going to do photos and add them to greyhound data. Were expecting a delivery from Red Mills. We have visitors coming. We need food for pups. Whatever happens I’ll watch Newcastle United on the TV tonight.
