WEEK STARTING MONDAY THE 29TH OF DECEMBER

MONDAY THE 29TH OF DECEMBER

A cold dry day and plenty to do. We have broods to go cuddy’s stud. We have maintenances work going on we need meat so that had to be collected and we are doing a swap around with hounds from the rearing paddocks to garden paddocks and from the garden paddocks to kennels for the first time and we will have to do another major tidy up.

TUESDAY THE 30TH OF DECEMBER

AS WE GET THE OPEN RACE RUNNERS WE WILL ADD THEM TO THE WEEKLY JOURNAL

Tuesday was cold and dry. We got all the hounds checked that are schooling. I did the weekly run to the vets. At the kennels we were warming trimming nails and moving hounds from rearing paddocks to garden paddocks and from garden paddocks to kennels plus I did the first run to the dump after the Christmas and the never ending job of maintenance is continued

WEDNESDAY THE 31ST OF DECEMBER

A cold dry day and a busy day. We needed parts for the 202 van. I went with the last load of rubbish to the dump. We have to be fed up early as we are trialing in Kilkenny. The maintenance work continues and the day has gone well

THURSDAY THE 1ST OF JANUARY 

The sales department is opened all day today and every day of the year.

We wish everybody a healthy , happy and lucky injury free new year.

Today new years day. We will do the kennels the same as Christmas day.

Its dry and cold but no frost. We have our first pups born so great start to the year 6 dogs , one bitch their are breed King capaldi x swift Vastly. We will be all fed  up and kennels done for 10:30am so all we have to done this afternoon is let hounds out that are in kennels

FRIDAY THE 2ND OF JANUARY 

Things were back to normal on Friday. I had to go to the North for meat. We changed all the beds in all the kennels. I also got a bit of shopping for myself. There was broods to pick up from Cuddys Stud. It was a cold dry day.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE THREE RUNNERS AT ROMFORD WRIGHTY AND SWIFT DEPOT. AT SUNDERLAND UNANIMOS LEON.

SATURDAY THE 3RD OF JANUARY 

We got up to a heavy frost. It took 20 minutes to thaw the van. We needed more meat, muzzles and collars. We have hounds leaving for the UK with Darragh Ryan. Fair play to him as he’s picking them up from the yard which makes the job easy. I sold my first two dogs of the year. We made the list for the supplies we need. I’ve also had to reapply for a passport because from January 1st if you’re travelling to the UK you now need a passport. I presume you can still go from Northern Ireland to the UK without one. I’ll watch the football this afternoon.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE FOUR RUNNERS AT CENTRAL PARK SWIFT DALLAS , SWIFT JARVIS AND MARTINDALE LAD. AT HOVE RULES FOR SOME.

SUNDAY THE 4TH OF JANUARY

It will be a typical Sunday where we cook, clean, feed and let hounds out of kennels. I will watch Newcastle play Crystal Palace.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE SIX RUNNERS AT TOWCESTER SWIFT DELICIOUS , SWIFT ISLA , CHARLIE LOVES ME AND ALWAYS WRIGHTY. AT YARMOUTH SWIFT AIRY. AT SHEFFIELD SWIFT MEL.
