MONDAY THE 16TH OF FEBRUARY
AS WE GET THE OPEN RACE RUNNERS I WILL ADD THEM TO THIS WEEKS JOURNAL
Monday was a cold dry day, we changed the beds in all the kennels yards garden paddocks and puppy sheds. There was meat to collect food for pups from the supermarket as well to collect. The 191 van was at the garage as it got a water leak but we got it fixed ross miles collected the hounds that are sold to go to the UK we had a delivery from red mills so we are just about fully stocked again I had a brood to go to cuddy stud and Newcastle united got man city in the F.A cup.
TUESDAY THE 17TH OF FEBRUARY
When we started at 6am today we had heavy frost but its dry, all the hounds that are schooling are getting checked as well. we are going to do a swap around with pups and mothers plus we will trim the pups nail and worm them as we do the swap. I have parts to collect for the 191 van paperwork to post off maintenance work to be done as well and a tidy up around the yard.
WEDNESDAY THE 18TH OF FEBRUARY
Another storm forecast for today in Ireland. We need all our waste away , food for pups from the supermarket , we need to make boxes and beds for mother and pups plus the everyday jobs of cleaning kennels , feeding , monitoring pups and tidying up. Three hounds to look out for that have trialed in the last few days Swift Okey 28.05 in Yarmouth. Swift hot first look Yarmouth 16.45. Swift Quick 27.20 first 4 bend in his life at Oxford. Swift American is dog of the year at Perry barr and Dunstall Park. Newcastle united have Qarabag in the Champions league tonight so I will watch the game as its on early 5:45 kickoff
THURSDAY THE 19 OF FEBRUARY
Fantastic win by Newcastle united las night in the champions league as we do the journal at 7 am its dry and you can feel spring in the air . The plans today is to get fed up early for the main job of the day trialing in Kilkenny. We have a delivery from o’neils dog food , we need food for pups from the supermarket , more paper work to post off and a couple of small jobs around the yard and update the dog for sale page tonight.

FRIDAY THE 20TH OF FEBRUARY
You can feel spring coming even though we got a bit of rain again this morning. We need to go to the vets , we have broods due to have pups so they will have to be watched. Whatever happens I may get all the paperwork posted off. We have the vet coming to do passports. We are going to do a major tidy up and we need bits and pieces from the hardware and Ross Myles is taking the hounds that are sold to the UK
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT AT HOVE RULES FOR SOME. TONIGHT WE HAVE FOUR RUNNERS AT ROMFORD SWIFT FLY, SWIFT JASPER, CHARLIE LOVES ME AND TIFFIELD TARQUIN.
SATURDAY THE 21ST OF FEBRUARY
The weather is a lot milder but it is still overcast we need meat and tripe from northern Ireland. I already been to the dump with all the waste. We are doing a major tidy up around the yard. We have the freezer to tidy up and all the garages to tidy up. If the day goes well we will take more photos of hounds on the dog for sale page and add them the greyhound data and we have been changing beds in all the kennels. The final race on the card saw Tiffield Tarquin extend his winning sequence at the track to four straight. It was a race that ended up not being the spectacle that those in attendance would want to have seen, though Roy Peckham’s hound was superb in victory once more.
The other open on the night went to Kevin Cobbold’s Swift Jasper. A multiple top grade winner at Yarmouth, he was another who arrived without a prior look at the London Road venue but it didn’t matter to him, driving the opening bend supremely well for a dog who had not seen the track. That bravery took him to a lead that he never looked like relinquishing.
