WEEK STARTING MONDAY THE 2ND OF MARCH

MONDAY THE 2ND OF MARCH

A nice dry day and a very busy day. We have done maintenance work , been to the vets to get the tonsils out from two hounds and a testicle out of an other hound. All the waste is away to the dump. We had the vet here doing passport work and John O’Reily was here checking hounds that are schooling. We had a load of supplies to order and top a off a good days work off I had two hounds to deliver in Ireland that were sold. On this weeks greyhound star British performance of the week we have two hounds on this weeks list Tiffield  Tarquin and Unanimous Leon , the write up below is took from the greyhound star.

29.60 is a very smart time around Hove’s 515m, with Tiffield Tarquin dropping back to four bends with another superb run. He has been flying around Romford this year and seems to be in the shape of his life at present, making it 5/5 in 2026. Surely another crack at the Derby will be coming up in a couple of months.

There was also a quickest of the year at Star Pelaw over the weekend with Unanimous Leon adding another 435m win to his portfolio. He picked up the quickest of 2025 over the same track and trip, continuing in flying form at present.

TUESDAY 3RD OF MARCH

A lovely day and this will be the first day in Ireland this year with no rain but when we started at 6am we got up to fog and heavy frost.  The plans today which are now cancelled were to prepare more hounds for schooling we have had a delivery from Time dog food we have kasco to collect and we also need food for pups plus we will wash the van this afternoon and do maintenance work.

AS WE GET THE OPEN RACE RUNNERS I WILL ADD THEM TO THIS WEEKS JOURNAL

WEDNESDAY THE 4THE OF MARCH

Wednesday is another lovely day and we got plenty done. We did more maintenance work , we have broods due to have pups so we are watching them , we were worming and trimming nails. I had meat to collect. We were at the vets and what a game with Newcastle united and man united and a super win with only ten man all the second half.

THURSDAY THE OF MARCH

It has rained all day and all night and it has been a  long day. I had a brood having pups overnight. They were big massive gorgeous pups but we couldn’t get them to suck the mothers milk, we tried from 12 am to 2:30 am so we left them to let nature take its course. I was back up at 5am and I could not believe it they were all sucking like mad sometimes broods having are best left completely alone and let nature take its course. We had hounds leave for the UK with Ross Myles this afternoon and he collected them from the yard which is a massive help as he goes through the paperwork and double checks everything and that was ten hounds Ross has took to the UK this week that were sold thanks everybody that bought a hound. We did a swap around we put pups into the rearing paddocks and kenneled up saplings trimmed nails and wormed them at the same time so just as well Kilkenny trials are cancelled to Friday afternoon.
