MONDAY THE 25TH OF AUGUST
An overcast day but does not look like a chance of rain and its not a bank holiday in Southern Ireland. I have been to the vets to get the tonsils out of two hounds. We are worming, trimming nails on baby pups. I have a brood to collect from Cuddy’s stud and we are doing the last of the tidying up around the yard. Newcastle United have their first home game of the season against Liverpool and i would now settle for a draw. On this week greyhound star British performance of the week we have one hound on the list swift depot at Yarmouth .TAKING FORM THE STAR
Local runners have a pretty good record in the East Anglian Derby, which gets underway in nine days’ time. If you were compiling a shortlist of ‘those likely to make the later stages’, Swift Depot – fourth in last year’s final – would again be somewhere near the top of the list. On Saturday, John Mullins’ runner went to traps with a 27.41 on his card and beat a decent class field, including the highly-rated Bockos Buster, in 27.42.
TUESDAY THE 26TH OF AUGUST
We had a day of sun shine and showers. We had a delivery of Kasco and Time dog food we also got a delivery of factory meat and tripe so all that had to be packed away. We had John O’Reily here checking hounds and Newcastle united should of gotten something out of the game against Liverpool last night and we got all paperwork ready for hounds that are sold leaving for the UK
WEDNESDAY THE 27TH OF AUGUST
I day tripped England for cereal and i was never as pleased to be home as i was absolutely scattered. At the kennel we were worming pups , trimming their nails and giving them their first injection which took all day. The hounds that were sold left for the UK. We needed food for pups and I also got all the waste away to the land fill.
THURSDAY THE 28TH OF AUGUST
We needed bits and pieces in Cashel and that was my first job of the day . We had to feed up early as the main job of the day trialing in Kilkenny and Newcastle united made a break to in the transfer market signing Nick Woltemade , if we get another forward in before Monday night when the transfer window closes we have had a brilliant window.
FRIDAY THE 29TH OF AUGUST
I was at the vets first thing this morning . We need food for pups and muzzle and collars and we have to get the 202 van serviced as well . At the kennels all we could do is feed as it has been a day of rain on and off.
ON OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE FOUR RUNNERS AT ROMFORD ALWAYS WRIGHT AND TOO WRIGHT. AT SUNDERLAND SWIFT BULLSEYE AND UNANIMOUS KAI.
SATURDAY THE 30TH OF AUGUST
Its a wet and windy day. We got an artic load of paper which had to be packed away. We changed the beds in the kennels. We were limited with the work we could do outside owing to the rain.
