Retired and ladies no longer with us

Week starting on 11-Jul-2010

Its been an extremely busy week so far. I have cut the 10 grass paddocks at lughill and only have our second field to cut, hopefully Thursday morning. We have most of the hedges cut whicH will hopefully be finished by Friday evening. We have had a pallot of meat, tripe and for the first time in a long time, horse meat. We have our vet Pat Dunne coming tomorrow evening to check everything that is schooling and we hope to get to Knocklong Saturday and Sunday but the forcast is bad so it will probobly be early next week. It is the Monasterevin festival (the town I live in) so I hope none of my staff including the computer doctor go missing (drinking and chasing women). Also there is a horse fair on for the first time in 250 years which will add a bit of colour to this quiet town.
Knocklong trials from Saturday now updated. Check for sale page.
We got to Knocklong on Saturday with some very exciting second handslips.
I delivered all the dogs that were sold to England on Sunday. We schooled at Knocklong on Saturday which was a very exciting day. We had supplies to collect yesterday, all our waste to get rid of, straw to collect and bag.
We have started cutting hedges and grass again. All the young pups are a full time job in themselves with feeding, cleaning, injecting and there isnt one small pup amoung them. We are right in the danger stage with then (5-8 weeks) but they couldnt be going better which is what anybody who has seen the will tell you. The sales department was very busy last week. Thanks to everybody who bought a dog.
The warm weather has been very hard on our retired ladies. We have had a heap of orders which took one lad all day on Monday to pack away. We have Pat Dunne, our vet, coming to check all the hounds who are schooling so we will update the website later on in the week when we are schooling.
The workload at Lughill Kennels is massive at the moment because of all the young pups.
